Welcome to the the Leeds-Grenville Stewardship Council (LGSC).

LGSC  is one of 46 Councils originally established
and  funded through the
Ontario  Stewardship Program and assisted by a Stewardship Coordinator, an employee of  the Ontario  Ministry of Natural Resources (OMNR). Since April 2013 OMNR no longer directly support Councils, but many,  including LGSC have made a commitment to continue their important work. The LGSC has entered into a  partnership with the Rideau
Valley Conservation Authority (RVCA).
The RVCA is providing  the LGSC with administrative and logistical support.

We are grateful to the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville who provided annual financial support from 2014 to 2019.

The Council is a unique program in which a volunteer,  community-based group works on environmental enhancement projects. It
is a credible forum and resource for the many community-based stewardship/ environmental groups in our community and works extensively with the partners listed adjacently to deliver projects.

Learn more about who we are by clicking on The Council, and what we do by checking out our Current  Projects. The Council's 2019 Annual Report and 2020 Workplan and previous years' Annual Reports and Workplans are available in the Strategic Documents file.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic LGSC's work has been severely curtailed in 2020 and 2021. This website has been updated with those projects we were able to carry out safely in the last two years.
