Kemptville Winter Woodlot Conference
The Kemptville Woodlot Conference is an annual event designed to educate and promote Best Management Practices to woodlot and private land owners. The yearly event allows participants to increase their knowledge and keep current on issues while encouraging sustainability.
The 24th Annual Kemptville Woodlot Conference was held on February 23, 2011. The organizing committee is a partnership of representatives from the Leeds-Grenville Stewardship Council, Resource Stewardship SDG, Eastern Ontario Model Forest, Ontario Woodlot Association and several dedicated local individuals. The conference is an annual eastern Ontario winter event typically attended by 175 to 200 people. Our goal is to provide a range of woodlot–related displays and speakers for the diverse interests of the attending landowners.
Themes for the day included the emerald ash borer, sugar maple orchards, species at risk in the woodlot, landowner program updates, and a wrap-up talk by the Ottawa Wild Bird Care Centre.
